Twas the Night...

before my trip, and all through my room
lay clothing and such for I leave way too soon.
The children are nestled all snug in their beds
As visions of grandma's house dance in their heads.
With passport and itinerary held tight in my hand
I hope that my flights go according to plan....

Ok, no more rhyming. Mostly cause I can't remember how the rest of the poem goes.

WOW! My trip is finally here!! Back in June we had our first trip meeting and I felt as if it was going to take forever for December to get here, now I'm down to leaving in just 16 hours. I'm guessing all those butterflies that people get for a trip like this will hit me once I'm at the airport, as of right now I have none.

My carry-on is packed and under the weight limit of 26 pounds. Actually, my carry-on and handbag can't exceed a combined weight of 26 pounds, still good. Now to finish the packing of the big suitcase, of course leaving space and weight for what I could be bringing home. The big suitcase can't be more than 50 pounds. If any of you reading this really knows me, I have always packed light, so I don't see this as a problem either.

My biggest problems have been those things I knew I needed to get done, but waited too long. Don't worry, I have everything done, just wish I had done some of it sooner.... like getting that 'quick phrase' book sooner, getting further along in Inferno so I could map out some of the locations I want to photograph... it's a long flight and I have a long layover in Paris.

Okay.... off to finish packing so I can get a good nights rest
